Director and Multilingual Practice Lead

ella/she/her

Nathaly holds expertise in early literacy and biliteracy, bilingualism, Latinx family engagement, talent development, and teacher and leader coaching. She has more than a decade of teaching and bilingual teacher preparation experience.

Nathaly has lived experience as a bilingual learner. She was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico to teenage parents. Her parents knew education was key, and she was taught how to read and write before reaching kindergarten. When her dad joined the U.S. Army, she gained access to better schools and was put on the path to becoming bilingual. These experiences led her to become an ESL and bilingual teacher for seven years. Nathaly later earned a Ph.D. in bilingual and bicultural studies at the University of Texas in Austin where she worked in bilingual teacher preparation. Her notable TNTP projects include the Parent Educator Academy in Arizona and Good to Great Puerto Rico, which combined intensive coaching with the right linguistically and culturally relevant materials, a mix that led to powerful results.

Our growth in multilingual work excites me the most. We have more staff with this expertise than we’ve ever had; more projects focus on this area. We have more resources, learning experiences, and support than ever before.
