Good to Great helps experienced teachers push their practice to the next level, so they can help all their students master challenging content.
Preparing today’s students for college or a career means helping them meet new, higher academic standards. But teaching more challenging material requires instructional shifts that can feel daunting, even for experienced teachers. It also takes an unwavering belief that students can do the work that will help them reach their goals—and a commitment to let them try.
Good to Great is a learning experience that helps experienced teachers combine high expectations with strong instruction to make grade-level content accessible to all their students—and see that their students can rise to the challenge. Through individualized coaching, practice in real classrooms, and real-time feedback, participants learn how to align their practice with the belief that every student can master challenging content.
Since 2015, more than 200 teachers have participated in Good to Great through our immersive three-week summer sessions and through our trainings during the regular school year. What they’ve learned has already made a difference for students. Students in the Good to Great summer institute made bigger gains in reading and math than students in other summer programs. At schools that participated in our year-long program, students made big enough academic gains to boost their school’s state accountability rating by at least one level.
