Education-to-Workforce Framework Action Guide

Turn education-to-workforce data into action that improves outcomes for young people.

Having better data is an important start, however data alone doesn’t improve students’ experiences or outcomes. State and local leaders need practical ways to make sense of what the data is telling them, understand the systems behind those patterns, and decide what to do next.

The Education-to-Workforce Framework Action Guide helps teams do just that. Developed from TNTP’s work with state and district partners, the guide offers a practical process for using Mathematica’s Education-to-Workforce Framework, available data, and continuous improvement practices to move from inquiry to action.

Designed for district, school, state, intermediary, and workforce partners, the guide can support teams beginning a new improvement effort or strengthen work already underway.

Through a flexible four-step process, teams learn how to connect a priority to an essential question, explore data and stakeholder perspectives to understand root causes, build a theory of improvement, and test and refine a change idea. Along the way, practical guidance, prompts, facilitation tips, templates, and connected resources help teams turn information into focused, measurable action and continuous learning.
