Tina Fernandez, Vice Chair
Senior Fellow, Harvard Advanced Leadership Initiative
A passionate advocate for social justice and a seasoned leader in talent and leadership development, Tina V. Fernandez has a track record of creating transformative programs and organizations. She is currently a Senior Fellow with the Harvard Advanced Leadership Initiative. Prior to this, she was the founding executive director of Achieve Atlanta, an organization whose vision is that Atlanta be a city where race and income no longer predict postsecondary success or upward mobility.
Tina was also a partner at Bellwether Education Partners, a national nonprofit providing strategic, talent, and policy consulting to education organizations across the United States. At Bellwether, Tina helped launch the Talent Readiness Pilot and co-led the development of Bellwether’s talent services. Tina also served as a Clinical Professor in the experiential learning division at the University of Texas School of Law and was the founding Director of the school’s Pro Bono Program.
She is also a trustee for the Tull Charitable Foundation, a Pahara-Aspen Education Fellow, and a moderator for the Aspen Global Leadership Network. Tina earned her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law and her B.A. from Harvard College. She is originally from the Rio Grande Valley of Texas and is mom to Lucia and Franky.
