Rubén R. Orozco

Senior Manager

he/him/él

Rubén has worked as a teacher, instructional coach, school administrator, and district leader. He specializes in mathematics and science, and is particularly adept at supporting multilingual learners.

Having earned a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry, Rubén furthered his academic pursuit with a master’s degree in education, emphasizing STEM. His experience spans roles as a STEM teacher, a newcomer mathematics instructor, and the founding assistant principal of a pioneering dual-language program. In leadership roles, he supported literacy and mathematics teachers. His work as an achievement specialist for math at the district level further solidified his commitment to education.

Rubén’s passion for supporting multilingual students stems from his own experience. At the age of 16, he relocated to the U.S., navigating both cultural and linguistic challenges firsthand. Over the past year at TNTP, he has supported school districts with multilingual learners, offering support in both literacy and math. One such program, a TNTP partnership with Central Elementary Community School in Colorado’s Adams County School District 14, resulted in dual-language students making significant progress on their math test scores.

We recognize the urgent need to modernize teaching methods and ensure every student has a real chance to thrive. With the goal of making education a true equalizer, TNTP is at the forefront of transformative change in public schooling.
