Gene is a social entrepreneur dedicated to building organizations that develop technology to improve education for all. Currently, Gene is a Venture Advisor at AI Fund, where he helps education entrepreneurs build companies that harness both deep AI expertise and deep domain expertise to build and scale innovative solutions. Prior to AI Fund, Gene co-founded UniversityNow, which created a competency-based learning platform that serves over one hundred and fifty thousand US college students; Platform Learning, an after-school tutoring network that tutored over 50,000 US elementary school students; and Learn Now, a CMO which built and operated a national network of public charter schools. Gene holds a BA from Morehouse College, JD from Harvard Law School, and MBA from The Wharton School.
