Eric Lugo

VP, Development

As Vice President of Development, Eric Lugo oversees the private and public fundraising strategy for TNTP. He serves as a partner to the executive team and leadership team, developing strategies to secure critical and innovative resources supporting TNTP’s economic mobility north star.

Prior to joining TNTP, Eric held joint roles as National Director of the College Renaissance Corps and as Senior Advisor with City Colleges of Chicago, leading a new, national service corps to recruit participants into high-demand industry training programs and supporting the system’s innovation and economic mobility agenda.

Previously, Eric served as Director of External Relations for Discovery Partners Institute, leading efforts to build partnerships with key systems, corporate, community and civic organizations in scaling efforts to support and develop technology talent.

Eric also served as Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff at City Colleges of Chicago. In this capacity, he oversaw advancement, community and legislative affairs, economic and workforce innovation, institutional branding and strategic marketing, and special initiatives. Eric played a leadership role in securing over $30 million in new private and public resources for innovative initiatives, supporting scholarship distribution growth by 300%, launching a 5-year strategic plan with Chicago Public Schools, scaling work-based learning and apprentice opportunities, building new credentialing programs to meet industry demand, and launching the Fresh Start Debt Forgiveness program.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Latino Policy Forum. Throughout his career, Eric has received several awards and fellowships, including the Damen Award by Loyola University Chicago – Quinlan School of Business, the Pahara NextGen Fellowship, the Marshall Memorial Fellowship, the Philanthropy NextGen Fellow, and the Edgar Fellowship.

Eric received his Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and earned an MBA and MSIMC from Loyola University Chicago, Quinlan School of Business. He currently resides in Hermosa, on Chicago’s Northwest side with his daughter.
