Dr. Kristin Walker Burt

VP, Transformation

As Vice President of Transformation, Dr. Kristin Walker Burt leads TNTP’s research and organizational performance strategy, strengthening the quality of our work to advance educational opportunities for all students. She builds the systems and practices through which we measure TNTP’s impact, strengthen organizational learning, and codify insights into actionable guidance that supports our client-facing teams.

As an Applied Psychologist with over 20 years of mixed-methods research experience, Kristin has spent her career bridging the gap between research and practice and developing and exploring insights and strategies that promote equitable, high quality educational experiences.

Prior to this role, Kristin served as a Partner, leading the research team for The Opportunity Makers (2024), a major TNTP publication examining leadership practices that expand opportunities for students. Previously, as Analytics Director and Director, she designed and led mixed‑methods research and consulting projects, developing complex qualitative tools and protocols, and training staff in data collection and best practices. She managed multi‑year initiatives that strengthened academic and talent systems, leadership development, and systems change management across diverse school systems.

Prior to joining TNTP, Kristin honed her research and knowledge management experience in the Memphis City and Shelby County school systems, where she led research to codify teacher and leader effectiveness initiatives, designed culturally responsive learning frameworks, and supported leaders in using data to drive change.

Kristin holds a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from The University of Memphis, a M.S. in Social Psychology from Tulane University and a B.S. in Psychology from Xavier University of Louisiana.
