Chris Henderson
Interim VP, Southeast/Midwest
As Interim Vice President of the Southeast/Midwest region, Chris Henderson leads TNTP’s consulting work in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Puerto Rico.
Since joining TNTP in 2011, Chris has held multiple roles across the organization – most recently serving as Managing Partner, Southeast/Midwest, as well as Interim Vice President, Midwest, and Managing Partner, Midwest. He has led a diverse portfolio of school system partnerships, advising senior leadership across the country on strategic planning, organizational efficiency, high-quality instruction, and talent management. Chris previously led TNTP’s national Career Pathways and Compensation practice and oversaw the development and growth of multiple TNTP Teaching Fellows sites.
Prior to joining TNTP, Chris worked for Teach For America where he supported and developed teachers. He began his career teaching high school chemistry and physics and coaching track and field in rural Mississippi. Chris has held a Heinz Policy Fellowship in the United States Senate and an Education Pioneers Fellowship in Washington D.C.
He holds a B.S. in Biology and History from Denison University and an M.S. in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University. He lives in Indianapolis, Indiana with his wife and two children.
