Amy Rae has extensive educational experience as a teacher, coach, recruiter, and trainer. She is an expert in the intersection of language, literacy, and culture, supporting strong literacy instruction and multilingual learners.

Among her many roles, Amy Rae served as the Elementary Literacy Content Dean for Teach For America pre-service, supporting facilitators and designing sessions for more than 1,000 corps members (new teachers). She also served as an instructional coach in Eastern North Carolina, supporting K–2 teachers in learning and implementing best practices in early literacy. As the Head of Program for Teach For Cambodia, she recruited and trained new teacher fellows in ESL and STEM education. Additionally, Amy Rae has been an instructional coach at a K–8 dual-immersion school, going back into the classroom to teach second through fourth grade ELA to students in the Spanish immersion track. She has a master’s degree in management and has done years of project management work.

I am excited about TNTP building more coherence into our work for multilingual learners. Rather than seeing them as separate, we’re recognizing that these students are in all of our schools and serving them well serves everyone well.

The woman, likely a teacher or tutor, is smiling and pointing at a paper with a pencil while the boy, who is wearing a dark hoodie, looks intently at the work. Word flashcards are visible on a blue background in the distance.
