Instructional Culture Insight Surveys

TNTP’s Instructional Culture Insight Surveys collect feedback on school experiences to help school systems understand and improve instructional culture.

Teachers and students flourish in a school culture with clear expectations, strong instruction, and support to grow. But shaping that culture is complex work, and it can be hard to know where to focus.

Our Instructional Culture Insight Surveys collect feedback on a range of topics, including academics, talent, and operations. We compare the results to highly effective schools across the country to uncover opportunities to build on strengths and prioritize areas for improvement.

Our teams run surveys, deliver results on an interactive dashboard, and offer resources and guidance in interpreting and acting on the results. Many schools participate year after year, continually monitoring their progress toward goals like enhancing educator effectiveness and improving student outcomes.

How It Works

Collect Feedback

We send surveys via email to the stakeholders you choose, including students, families, teachers, school leaders, school support staff, and district or network central teams. The surveys ask people to reflect on their experiences and are completely confidential.

Review Results

School, district, and network leaders receive access to reports within weeks, including summative scores, detailed survey responses for each question, and trends over time, if available. These reports include national comparison results from schools with strong practices. We also offer additional equity analysis services that disaggregate select results by different aspects of identity.

Monitor Progress

Our Insight experts can help interpret results, engage key decision makers, and create action plans based on your goals. We help identify specific areas for improvement and provide step-by-step protocols, trainings, and other resources for goal setting and progress monitoring.

Take a Tour

On Insight’s interactive dashboard, you can view at-a-glance information on academic expectations; teacher retention; family engagement; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and, if available, trends over time.

The survey itself is well designed and powerful as a tool to move the education industry forward.

Communication, communication, communication. The communication is clear with set target dates and goals… They really listen to what we want to achieve and set out a clear road map/project plan to make it happen.
