Leigh McGuigan

VP, Human Capital Systems Performance Management

 

Leigh McGuigan leads TNTP’s work with states, districts and charter organizations to transform human capital systems. Her team designs and implements new evaluation systems and staffing processes, and creates effective and scalable tools to manage teachers’ performance on the job.

Previously, as a Policy Partner, Leigh led the design of evaluation systems in Rhode Island, Indiana and Newark and launched the School Leaders’ Toolbox. Before joining TNTP, she served as Special Advisor to the CEO of Chicago Public Schools and as Senior Executive for New and Innovative Schools in the Cleveland Public School District. She also created the Office of School Leadership for the New York City Department of Education, leading the Chancellor’s initiative to raise the bar for teachers to earn tenure.

Before starting her career in education, Leigh served as Senior Managing Director in the Investment Management Group of Bank One (now part of JPMorgan Chase) and as the company’s Litigation Director and a division General Counsel. Leigh holds a B.A. from Duke University, a J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Ohio State.
