Christine Sargent

VP, Strategy & Development New Teacher Effectiveness

Christine Sargent leads the New Teacher Effectiveness Group’s work to improve teacher effectiveness across all new teacher recruitment (Teaching Fellows) and certification (TNTP Academy) programs.

Previously, Christine was a Managing Partner, overseeing TNTP’s Training and Certification programs and developing the Assessment of Classroom Effectiveness screen, one of the nation’s first efforts to link certification decisions to student outcomes. As a Partner, she oversaw the training and certification of new teachers in Prince George’s County and Baltimore, Maryland. Christine helped to develop the Mercy College New Teacher Residency Program, a two-year alternative certification Master’s program, in New York City.

Christine began her career with Teach For America, teaching third grade in Houston. She holds an M.Ed. in School Leadership from Harvard University and a BA in Political Science and International Affairs from Scripps College.
