Find Your Why

Why do we work relentlessly to give kids better opportunities?
The answer depends on who you ask.

We’re all driven by a shared goal, but each TNTPer’s passion is personal. Almost all our staff members say they’re proud to be here. We strive for a culture where everyone—no matter who they are or where they sit in the organization—belongs and can bring their authentic self and voice to their work.

Our Commitment to Mission, Impact, and Each Other

Connection:

At TNTP, you’ll join colleagues who are powerful change agents dedicated to transforming students’ opportunities for economic and social mobility. Our inclusive culture, people-focused practices, and digital tools will help you stay connected and do your best work in a remote environment. You will foster connections with colleagues and managers who care about you and your success.

Holistic Well-Being:

As a TNTPer, you’ll receive a comprehensive compensation package that is competitive within our talent market, including a competitive salary; health and wellness benefits; and significant investments in your physical, mental, emotional, and financial well-being.

Innovation:

We ask all TNTPers to incorporate innovation in their work at every turn, exploring what it takes to deliver more deeply on our mission. You’ll engage in conversations with thought leaders within and beyond the education sector, preparing you for the next steps in your career and life.

Impact:

Through hard work and strategic risk taking, you’ll help TNTP tackle the biggest challenges facing young people today. Our work actively disrupts inequitable practices to increase opportunities for all students—particularly those historically marginalized by ethnicity, race, socioeconomics, sexual orientation, gender identity, language, and geography.

Work That Works for You

Our people work in home offices, schools, and district offices across the country.

Work Remotely

Remote work has been a key ingredient in TNTP’s success since our founding in 1997. Our virtual structure not only supports the breadth of our impact but also allows us to hire talented people, no matter where they live.

A virtual work environment allows flexibility for staff to pick up kids from school, run time-sensitive errands, or squeeze in that midday workout, so they can dive into their projects fully refreshed and focused.

…But Stay Connected

Despite the distance, connection is vital. At TNTP, we offer a range of opportunities for staff to build community, including our centralized management model, affinity groups, and group gatherings.

We Invest in You

In addition to competitive salaries at all job levels, TNTP offers a rich total rewards package for full-time staff, designed to support your physical, mental, emotional, and financial well-being.

Work in Comfort

As a new hire, you’ll receive a home office setup reimbursement so you can furnish your space to suit your taste, an annual reimbursement to refresh your home office supplies, a monthly internet stipend, and a company-provided cell phone and service plan.

We also offer free financial coaching and financial education workshops.

Get Some R&R

You will have 15 vacation days, 5 sick/personal, and approximately 20 paid holidays in your first year at TNTP. We also provide paid leave and time off for a range of life events. Beyond time off, TNTP provides reimbursement for wellbeing expenses through our Lifestyle Spending Account.

We also contribute towards dental and vision insurance and provide partial reimbursement for out-of-pocket medical travel, mental health, and infertility treatment. You can also contribute to flexible spending accounts for medical and dependent care expenses.

Want to join us? Here’s what to expect.

These steps represent a typical process, but your experience may vary. Our hiring teams thoughtfully design each hiring process to be as efficient as possible.

Application Review

The hiring process starts with a thorough review of your resume and cover letter. If you’re a strong candidate for the position, we’ll set up a phone interview to learn more about you and give you an opportunity to hear more about the position, working at TNTP, and our hiring process.

Interviews

The interview process is our chance to learn about each other. We will learn more about your background and experiences, and you will learn more about the role, our organization, and our culture. If you are invited to an interview, you can expect to complete pre-work (a task to help you understand the role that takes no more than two hours to complete) and participate in video interviews with TNTP leaders.

References

Before extending an offer, TNTP contacts your professional references, including a direct supervisor. We communicate with a candidate's references during the final interview round.
